1714 - Violin "Soil"

Back of two pieces of curly maple with broad curl nacreous, glued in a herringbone pattern with apex at the bottom. Neck not original (the original is preserved in the Violin's Museum in Cremona; see: Mosconi-Torresani 1987, no. 128). Reddish-brown varnish.
