1725 - Violin "Chaconne - Hammig"

Soundboard of two pieces of matching spruce with a knot near the tip of the upper left corner. Back of two pieces of curly maple with marked curl medium-large, glued in a herringbone pattern with apex at the top, and with an almond-shaped insert in the in the lower part of the center joint. Ribs of wood matching to the back. Scroll of curly maple with a strong flame. Reddish-brown varnish on yellow-gold ground.
