1717 - Violin "Piatti"

Soundboard of spruce to very fine vein at the center, which widens towards the flanks. Back of two pieces of curly maple to medium-large curl, glued in a herringbone pattern with apex at the top. Ribs of wood similar to that of the back. Scroll of curly maple with faint broad curl. Red-orange varnish.
