1716 - Violin "de Duranty"

Back of two pieces of curly maple with broad curl, glued in a herringbone pattern with apex at the top. Ribs and scroll of wood similar to that of the fund. Golden-brown varnish, applied later, perhaps by a member of the Gagliano family.
