1701 - Violin "Ferraresi"

Soundboard of spruce, probably not original (Beare 2000). Back of two pieces of curly maple for faint broad curl, glued in a herringbone pattern with apex at the bottom. Ribs of wood similar to that of the back. Scroll probably not original (Beare 2000). Reddish-brown varnish on a golden ground.
