1688 c. - Violin "Guyot"

Soundboard of spruce to narrow vein that widens at the flanks. Back of two pieces of curly maple on medium curl, glued in a herringbone pattern with apex at the top. Ribs of curly maple of somewhat broader curl than that of the back. Original scroll, but grafted on to peg-box of replacement. Orange-red varnish on a golden ground.
