1683 - Violin

Soundboard of spruce with medium grain, with a knot in the right lower lobe. Back of two pieces of curly maple to medium-narrow curl, glued in a herringbone pattern with vertex at the top. Ribs and scroll of wood similar to that of the back. Golden-brown varnish.
