Spruce soundboard of narrow grain in the treble side and medium grain in the bass side. Back of one piece of curly maple cut on the slab and broad wavy curl, mostly descending to the left, with two original winds on the lower bouts. Ribs of wood similar to that of the bottom. Scroll of much fainter curl. Light golden-brown varnish
