1672 - Violin

Soundboard of spruce strong grain narrow. Back of two pieces of curly maple with narrow curl, glued in a herringbone pattern with apex at the top. Ribs of wood similar to that of the bottom. Scroll not original, possibly of the Venetian school of the 1730s circa. Brown varnish very thick.
