di Guarneri Andrea
1647 (?) - Violin (attr.)
Small violin enlarged in the period following its construction. Ribs and scroll are attributed to the Ceruti school. The back is in two pieces of curly maple with narrow curl, glued to light herringbone with vertex at the bottom. The table and the back are decorated with double purflings. The text of the printed label glued inside is unusual for Andrea Guarneri, who never had a shop in the Contrada Larga.
