1588/90 - Teatro all'antica in Sabbioneta

The internal scheme recalls that of the classical theaters, in a semicircle with the tiers of the auditorium, the rectangular orchestra and the raised stage without arch-scene with the fixed scene. The original ceiling consisted of a blue colored barrel false ceiling that gave the idea of an open-air theater. The frescoes that adorn the room, and particularly those of the loggia, were made by artists from the workshop of Paolo Veronese, while the stuccos were modeled after a Venetian workshop between July and October 1589 based on a design by the architect.
