Considerantes fidelitatem servitutis, atque amoris comitatem quam Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis erga nos, ut occasio posutulavit semper ostendit; eidem nos ipsi benevolentiae notrae mutuam praestandam suximus significationem, ac nostros inter lutuarus familiaris eum connumerando optamus, ut ijsdem fruatur privilegijs, praerogativis, et exempionibus quod caeteri apud nos nostro actualiter addieti servitii potiuntur. Ideoque hortamus omnes, et singulos, ut eundem favoribus prosequantur, existiment, et debito donent honore: nostram nos omnibus vicissim spondentes anime gratitudinem,. Sed quorum omnium, et singulorum fidem has praesentis faciendas mandavimus, nostra propria manu subscriptas, nostrique impressione sigilli munitus. Dat. Considering the faithful service and kindly affection which Antonius Stradivarius, of Cremona, has shown us when opportunity offered, we have determined to show him in return our good will, and we desire to rank him among our familiar friends, in order that he may always be a partaker of the privileges, prerogatives, and exemptions which those enjoy who are actualIy engaged in our service. And therefore we exhort alI and every one, that they show him the same favour, esteem, and due honour; and we on our part promise in return our best thanks. In testimony of alI and everything above mentioned, we have commanded this writing to be drawn up, signed by our own hand and certified with tbe impression of our own seal.
