In his labels are declaring "bolognese" and pupil of Nicholas Amati. In fact, in 1661, in the Stati d'anime of the parish of Saints Faustino and Giovita of Cremona is registred resident in the house of Amati. For some authors, it would be moved to Brescia in 1675, where he worked until his death. His work was continued by his son Pietro Giacomo.
