He attended the International School of Violin Making in Cremona from 1976 to 1980, where he was a student of Primo Pistons, Wanna Zambelli and Alceste Bulfari. He began his career working for three years in the laboratory of Corrado Belli, focusing in particular to the problems of choice of woods and varnish. Has made remarkable achievements in international competitions: 1985, second prize, silver medal, with a viola; 1986 prize for the best sculpture of the scroll in Competition of Poznan; 1988, "Gold Medal" with a cello, "Stauffer Award" for the better sound and "Sacconi Award", the V Triennale of Cremona. In his instruments (a hundred or so, which are inspired by the classical Cremonese models) showed great character and great attention to detail, nice varnish and good acoustic response.
